Who doesn’t love chocolate? This poem talks about someone who loves chocolate confections, but bemoans the stomach ache one gets from eating too much.
Gluttonous Obsessions:
It seems there’s been a grave mistake,
The amount of chocolate that I ate.
For now, I fear, my stomach may
Dis’gree with what I ate today.
My plate was piled high with sweets!
I settled on the delicious treats.
The chocolate that I’ve gobbled down,
Is more than one would think I’d hound!
I could have eaten rice and beans,
Corn and chicken, carrots, peas,
But, whoops! I choose to feast instead
On chocolate candies, aforesaid.
There was so much candy there, you see,
And I love chocolate more than me.
Though my stomach may fight and moan,
Plus roll just like the flu,
I know that I will never stop – chocolate still I’ll chew!
